Tenafly Recreation Turkey Shoot

Holiday Parade

11/29/2008 - 11/30/2008 The Wallington Fire Department invites all to celebrate in it its 7th Annual Firefighter's Nighttime Holiday Parade. This Ride Through Parade is a family affair that ushers in the Christmas season. The parade features decorated and lighted fire trucks and floats from throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

Since Santa Claus will be making his official entrance at the end of the parade on Wallington's Fire Truck, no other Santa's are allowed on any parade entries, to avoid children's confusion.

JAZZ/WORLD: Brad Shepik's Human Activity Suite

11/29/2008 - 11/29/2008 Guitarist Brad Shepik, who has packed the Puffin as part of Matt Darriau's Paradox Trio brings his quintet to feature a newly commissioned piece, "Human Activity: Sounding a Response to Climate Change" - a 10-part suite that looks at possible effects of climate change throughout the world. Drawing on his extensive experience in world music and within the context of a quintet of jazz improvisers of the highest level, Shepik employs various instruments and references to indigenous music from around the world for this opening salvo of the Puffin's new exhibition, "Green, Black, and Blue: Humanity & the Environement." Ralph Alessi (trumpet), Matt Mitchell (piano), Drew Gress (bass) and Tom Rainey (drums).
